Dr. David Liu
DVM, VA
Dr. David Liu’s journey into veterinary medicine began while serving in the United States Navy. During his service, he read an article called “Four-Legged Heroes,” highlighting the animals who served alongside members of the United States Armed Forces. Inspired by their loyalty, bravery, and sacrifice, Dr. Liu developed a deep respect for these animals and began dreaming of a career dedicated to helping them.
That inspiration eventually became a personal philosophy that continues to guide him today: to bring animals comfort, good health, and happiness.
After his military service, Dr. Liu earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Oregon State University. While there, he worked at the university’s Dairy Research Center, where he participated in research studying the relationship between colostrum and the calf immune system.
He went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Liu also pursued additional training in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and became certified as a Mixed
Animal Veterinary Acupuncturist through Chi University in Florida. He spent several years practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine through the Western University Pet Health Center and later completed two additional years of postgraduate training in small animal surgery.
Dr. Liu brings a unique approach to patient care by combining his extensive surgical experience with both Western and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. At Rancho Regional Veterinary Hospital, he enjoys having the ability to look at each patient as an individual and provide thoughtful, well-rounded care tailored to their needs.
He is proud to serve the pets and families of Rancho Cucamonga and remains committed to the philosophy that first inspired him to become a veterinarian: helping animals live more comfortable, healthy, and happy lives.

“Living in a gated community does not protect your pets from fleas! Flea prevention is still important, even for pets who spend most of their time indoors or within a gated community.”
