Dr. Ana Ramirez

Dr. Ana Ramirez is passionate about helping pets live healthier, happier lives while building lasting relationships with the families who love them. She believes that great veterinary care starts with listening, educating, and working together with pet owners to make the best decisions for their pets.
Dr. Ramirez earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Master of Science in Biological Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences. Before becoming a veterinarian, she worked as a veterinary technician—an experience that shaped her compassionate, hands-on approach to patient care and gave her a deep appreciation for every member of the veterinary team.
Her professional interests include preventive medicine, dermatology, diagnostic ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, urgent and emergency care, and client education. She especially enjoys the challenge of internal medicine cases and putting together the pieces of a complicated case to determine what is going on and how best to help her patient.
As Medical Director at Rancho Regional Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Ramirez is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based medicine while creating a supportive environment for patients, clients, and her team. She is Fear Free Certified and believes some of the best patient outcomes come from strong partnerships between pet owners and their veterinary team.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Ramirez enjoys spending time with her husband, their two sons, two Chihuahuas, and two cats. She considers it a privilege to care for the pets in her community and looks forward to building lasting relationships with Rancho Regional Veterinary Hospital's clients and their families.

What made you want to become a veterinarian?
“My love for animals started at a young age. During times when the world around me wasn’t always the best, I found comfort in losing myself among animals. They became a safe place for me, and that connection ultimately grew into a desire to dedicate my life to caring for them.”
What’s your favorite part about being a veterinarian?
“Helping strengthen the human-animal bond. I love being able to care for pets while also supporting the people who love them.”
What dog or cat breed matches your personality?
“Definitely a Chihuahua—small but mighty, loyal, loving, and maybe a little feisty. ”
